Whether you’re traveling from within Africa or internationally, Accra offers a range of accommodation options, transportation services, and conference-friendly amenities to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience.

Visas

Participants traveling to Ghana may require a visa. 

We encourage you to check with the Ghanaian embassy or consulate in your country.

AFRIWOCC can provide official invitation letters upon request.

Hotel Accommodation

There are several hotels and guesthouses near the conference venue in Accra to suit a range of budgets and preferences. We recommend booking your accommodation early, as rooms may fill up quickly around the time of the event.

Participants are encouraged to explore hotels in central Accra, especially in areas such as Airport Residential, Cantonments, Osu, and Labone, which offer convenient access to the venue and major city amenities.

Transportation

Getting to and around Accra is easy and convenient for AFRIWOCC 2025 attendees.

Kotoka International Airport (ACC) is a 20-minute drive from the venue. Airport pickups will be arranged for invited guests. Taxis, Uber, Bolt, and Yango are available at the terminal.

Use ride-hailing apps (Uber, Bolt, Yango) for reliable transport across the city.

Travel Insurance Information

We strongly recommend that international participants obtain travel insurance that covers health, accidents, and trip cancellations.

Languages

The official language of the conference is English with translation services in french.

 

Currency

Ghana’s local currency is the Ghanaian Cedi (GHS). 

Major credit/debit cards are accepted in most hotels and restaurants. 

Currency exchange services will also be available at the airport and key hotels.

Weather

Accra in October is typically warm and humid, with average temperatures between 25–30°C. 

Light clothing and sun protection are recommended.
