From high-level dialogues, youth dialogues, and fireside chats, AFRIWOCC at COP 28 explored the various roles through which women and the youth can effectively contribute to climate action. AFRIWOCC-UNDP collaboration supported some seventy young climate activists to participate in COP 28 in Dubai where they had the opportunity to shed light on their endeavors in climate action. Crucially, this collaboration has resulted in the AFRIWOCC-UNDP Climate Youth Network and the announcement of the Africa Women and Children Climate Fund. The Fund currently at its planning stage aims to increase access to financing for women-focused actionable initiatives in climate action which are designed to be gender transformative on the African continent.
